Alright... it's in and I love it...
See the Blog Post here...

The decoder is only controlling the engine car... I have done a trick to make the lights work directionally.. you'll see that in a post very soon.

...right... back to writing my new DCC Light trick :)

Steve
Why did you use copper wire instead of the orange and grey decoder wires?

Size... the orange and grey is thicker and there really isn't much room under the blue plastic.

Also, the decoder was ripped out of my Odoriko, which really was a bad install... so the orange and grey had already been cut and rendered useless. Now that you mention it, I'm quite interested to know if the copper provides resistance and kills my top speed?

easy to test, drive the thing around for a while at fairly high speed, and then check if the copper wire is getting warm at all. If it's not, you're safe ;)

I doubt the copper wire is providing a lot of resistance really.

It does run at good speed... so I'm not that concerned... and thanks, for future reference, for a good way to test... of course resistance means the energy has to be diverted off elsewhere as heat.

Can't wait to have this train making a cameo appearance on my 'Kyushuu Layout' which will be appearing early in the new year.  8)
