The govt went and whinged when the banks gave them selves all pay rises and bonuses.

Then yesterday they announce cuts to family benfits and tax breaks because of the slowing economy and financial issues overseas, then today they kick everyone in the nuts with this.

They use the argument that higher pay will attract more talented people into politics. It ain't working so far.

The kick in the pants for me is when politicians state that they "gave their lives" to public service!!!

Is there a politician anywhere that has not benefited greatly via underhandedness. In the US they are exempt from insider trading laws so many enter politics rich and come out obscene! Most do!

It used to be that the rich received better education and in turn got important jobs. Today its amazing how unremarkable people in authority are (politicians, industry etc)..  Take away speechwriters and the handlers and most politicians seem to be drunkards..
