I've read on people planning to buy tickets this Friday. What about those visiting in Japan? Some ideas for me, Setagaya Line from Sangenjaya Station, a JR All Day Tokyo Pass, JR ticket from Shinjuku Station. Wonder if any stations will be selling special tickets?

Best wishes,
Grant

I bought one last year- Heisei 22, February 22, ie. 22-2-22.  Easiest and cheapest is to buy a platform pass (nyujou-ken).

Just the date? No specific time that crashes JR's system like in the past?

Well, now that you mention it ... I might just have to buy something.  I'm thinking I should go for 11:20 on 11/11/2011 ... but then, ticket vending machines aren't always accurate with the time, are they?

I'll be riding the Chikuho Dentetsu on the 11th which will require a ticket but as Bikkuri reminds us the date will probably read 23/11/11.

My railpass expires on 23/11/23.

Closest I'm going to get is a ticket for 11/12/11. And if I had waited until 11/11/11 to buy it, there wouldn't have been any seats left.
