How many of the Fujikyuko Series 2000 Limited Express consists were built?  Is it only 2 x 3-car sets?

I believe this train is actually a converted Series 165, right?

Yes, it's a conversion of the 165 series (two 3 car sets).   Fujikyu got these converted units secondhand from JR East, who ran them as the Panorama Alps Expressuntil 2001.

...and the Kato model of that version is really nice. I was lucky to find one.

surprised microace has not done this train yet! would be nice with the interiors, but their motor chassis would destroy one of the interiors...

even with the funky mix of styles it has a very nice overall interior design feel.

It's a great interior ... that's actually the reason I raised the thread.

If I was a kid, I'd want my bedroom done like a piece of one of those cars.  Alas, I'm an adult ... still trying to talk Mrs_Ghan into a Tarzan theme though ...

Kitayama - was that a still working block station at Fujikyu in 2003? (ref. my thread in scenery on JR signal boxes / block stations)

yakumo381 - Sorry, I have no idea. BTW, the top picture is from 2005 (error in my previous post). I've been at Fujikyu twice...
