Im looking for the original sound for the  UNION PACIFIC EMD DD40AX , but it seems that there is right now no sound decoder for this train, so i was told that the Turbine sound is the one that comes close to the correct sound ,is this correct, is turbine the correct sound for this big diesel train ??

Domino,

the DD40X uses 2 turbocharged EMD 645E3 (16 cyclinders) engines, and could in theory be discribed as 2 GP40's on a single frame.
The turbocharged EMD 645 has a verry distinct Turbo Whine, but doesn't sound like a turbine engine at all, in fact, seeing as you live in Denmark, you've probably familiar with the sound of the 645 engine as the DSB Mz class uses them (20 cylinder version)

I'd use an SD-40 sound file, or perhaps even an SD-45 one. You'd loose some of the specific DD40X sounds like the dual splitter-valves, but at least you have the charactaristic EMD sound.

hope this helps,

Sander
