Took advantage of JR East's "Holiday Pass" for 2300 yen and went on trip to Chiba Pref. yesterday, ostensibly to ride a 113 series train.  Unfortunately no 113's in evidence at Chiba Station, except for a terminating service (with a "thank you 113" headmark).  Otherwise a wasteland of cheapie 209 series (ex-Keihin Tohoku).  Some 2ch posters also expressed disappointment at the lack of 113 series.  Have to check the 2ch threads to see the possible trains that roster 113 series. Problem is the assignments change day to day, so you never can be sure.  One poster suggested that one should just sit at Chiba Station and wait until a 113 series comes along.  You're looking at at least an hour wait, if you're lucky.

And I suppose that seems like a long wait for a train for you.
