My newest addition to my roster is the Tomix E3 Komachi:

It's a nice looking train but has anyone installed a decoder in this model? This one is a little different than most Shinkansens in that the motor is in the head car.

It should be the same as any other shinkansen, with the exception that you can hook up the lights in the head car to the decoder rather than needing a separate function decoder for it.

I have a Tomix 400 series which also has the motor in the head car, but I haven't done anything with it apart check to see if it runs.
