I've been working on a few ideas for a door layout that would have a local line, plus another line with a yard that would let various limited expresses and joyful trains show up once in a while. The design below also has a scenic line that climbs up above everything else. The yard would be open at the top, but surrounded by view blocks.

The only thing I don't like is that the outer line is 2.5" below the other line. The station would have to be a little weird to make that work. But I couldn't get the lines to the same level on the flats without using a crossing. Which I guess wouldn't be so bad.

Really like the 3D.

How about an elevated station for the blue line?

The blue line will become more impressive when you add another door module.

An elevated station or platform is a good idea--I'll have to fiddle with that.

The layout was designed to fit (iirc) a 36" x 80" door. I did it in RailModeller on a Mac--unfortunately,  I think it's a Mac-only application.
