I have had a question from a guy who is keen to register on here, however there has been a little confusion with regard to the verification questions. I'll admit it has been a while since I registered, and I cannot recall what the process was, however there looks to be four questions. The first two are self-explanatory, however I really don't get the last two involving the URL.

Can someone shed a little light on these questions? I'm not too sure how many potential new users cannot register because of this; of course as they can't logon they cannot report the issue!

The idea was that the potential user had to load up the URL, have a quick look at the page that loads, and respond to the question (which is, as I recall, is that article relevant to the purpose of this site?)

Precisely. That bit was implemented at a time when we were receiving a number of obviously spam registrations. The move was designed to thwart those who would register only to spam. (you must have missed the train porn spam. I kid you not.)

Yes. Do not ask me to elaborate. Your imagination is sufficient.

Suffice to say, the questions on registration are absolutely neccessary!

The questions do not require any knowledge of the subject, but do require a brain and not a cpu!

I may get a lot of use out of that line.
