I was a little bit surprised that my order arrived today as I bought these items only 2 weeks ago from HS and the postage method was SAL. So, new record! 🙂

(Nothing special, just some items for my T-trak modul and a book case for my soundcards plus an E235 card.)

A tiny little order from AmiAmi turned up today as my wife and daughters wanted some Rilakkuma plush keychains and I also got some Kato 23-020 Viaduct Piers for my son to use for his track. For me was the TM-08R to power one of the Kumaden 6000 Series and the JC25 TN’s to finish the fitting of my Greenmax 211-5000 Series LL Sets. I also got the Tokai Love Live Sunshine bus as my daughters are big fans of the game and I will be able to fit it in with the JR Tokai based layout when I get around to it, the small station was purchased as a parts donor for some stuff I’m working on.

Ordered from Model Train Plus (because they had the things in stock, and no one else did)

* KATO 8071 - Hopper Wagon Type HOKI5700 (Chichibu Cement / 2 car set)

* KATO 23-575 - ISO Tank Container (NRS)

I really like the look of those cement hoppers, I keep meaning to get some but end up getting distracted every time I'm about to purchase one.

So sorry about that, though now you've gone and reminded me I don't have one in the JNR revival livery, I shall have to remedy that situation especially as I keep seeing them so often.

Here we go:

Pulling some retro containers too... Next step: replacement pantographs.

I don't mind the Tomix pantographs, they may not be as sturdy as the Kato ones but they are much finer with the detail and do look good after you give them a touch up with paint, on top of that pantographs don't look shiny as they pick up a fair bit of grime when in use.

Don't laugh.A fortnight ago I spotted a Kato one along with a Kato 10-1361 JNR series 14/15 coaches offers over 60 pounds on eBay.There were no takers so I popped in a bid and got them for that!!!

Neither ordered nor delivered but rather, I walked into Model Train Plus and bought them at Nariichi’s shop. It wasn’t until I saw the model that I really wanted to buy the E235, it kind of grown on me after riding and seeing it daily the past week. What an interesting concept and experience getting to examine and hold a model before purchasing. 😀

Arrived yesterday. Full set of the Takara Tomy Danbo container headed figures.

Even came with the gachapon pods, which I'm trying to find a use for!

Should we tell him about the 2nd series too?

I know about the second series, just haven't seen them for sale anywhere yet! The first batch were going for stupid sums last year, but sellers have become more sensible in recent weeks.

Surely that's the e235 A and B add on sets.

Do you have the starter set already?

The E235 and E353 are both complete sets, trying to save space and scrapped the cardboard boxes.

Exactly as what I will do! Nicely done Junior! Bet Nariichi san is smiling together with you! The E235 is a SUPER set that I am glad to get hold of too ~

Now you need to get back to MTP to ask him for the E353 additional motor and light parts for that 3-car add-on set ~  🙂

So wish that my next trip to Asia was not to Jeju but just slightly south, so I can visit some model train stores...

One of the reasons I much prefer going into a shop than to order online, I like to talk to people. I go into the store for modeltrainstuff.com semi regularly and end up staying for most of the day just talking to people and trying to sell my custom works. Sure, I could order online and save me the gas money and the hassle of the freeways, but it's much more fun to go in and bother people.

ModelTrainPlus is definitely on my hit list if I ever manage to get a trip together.

Someone was smokin something good when these were dreamed up. Puts me to mind of Gumby and pokey and the blockheads...

cheers

Did look up the background. Danbo was/is a manga series about a couple of girls who make a robot outfit from boxes for a school event. The younger sister of one of them sees the costume and becomes convinced that Danbo is a real robot.

The only snag in N is that the container heads are slightly overscale, or at least the pale brown version is. They clip solidly to Tomix KoKis but don't quite blend in.

Cone on Sammy we all know that you getting rid of the cardboard boxes of the add on sets is not to save space, it’s so your wife doesn’t know how many pieces of rolling stock you have purchased.

as I saw the prototype a couple of months back and Tomix just re-released the model. Selling quickly, it seems.

Still not a fan of the of the plastic pantographs,  one already came apart.

Haha indeed!

Don't like how if you didn't get the 3-car attached set then you cannot house the 4-car basic set in a book case... but oh well, nothing some Casco urethane cant do ~

Nice JRF addition, Squid. Does it have the big square air conditioners to mount on the roof?
