Unfortunately his voice was still a bit nasal after his recent surgery when I made this video. He said, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the rocket train from Japan. Goodnight Australia!" Ever since he could talk he's callled the shinkansen stock "rocket trains". I asked him why and he gave me the obvious answer - "Because they go like a rocket!". The poster you saw was issued a few years ago by the railway I work for, when we were still called CityRail. It featured all of the EMU and DMU stock we were running at the time. Glad you like it! The bridge started out as a Walthers kit, but it had to be extensively modified to make it work repeatedly and reliably. Among our club members there are two signal engineers, two signal technicians and an electrical engineer. They formed a team and made it all work. Apart from the mechanism, the electrical side is fully interlocked with the signals and track power. Cheers, Mark. Link to comment

Neither side of politics here has any real interest in developing our rail network. ...but they will NEVER enjoy shinkansen on their Australian model layouts either, or so it seems ... ;) I'm working on that!
