Eishindo Has Been Busy

Anyone see HobbySearch has reserves now for both a new Attache diorama set, (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10092160) as well as a new Incline Plane set. Also it looks like they have a KiHa 40 coming out officially as well. It looks like it is going to be about ¥3100 for the single car. The guys on the T-scale forums are already drooling over how to kitbash it in to a Budd RDC.

I am really looking forward to the new T Gauge stuff....I currently have a layout under construction in this scale. Particularly eye-catching is the prospect of the N700 bullet and the funicular  8)

The Kiha will be most welcome, however I hope Eishindo have gone some way to improving the stability of the units. The class 103s, as many will know, have two powered cars and two trailers in the set. The trailers have a sort of 'magnahesion' to compensate for the lack of weight. Not only does this keep the trailers in the track, but also assists with weighting down the motor coaches, thus improving traction and conductivity.

I have no reason to doubt that Eishindo have taken steps to address this, as they must be one of the most proactive manufacturers I have come across - the motors in their second batch of improved 103s was far superior to the original. They listen to the feedback from customers and act upon it....

When released a Kiha 40 will certainly be winging its way here.... ;D

Also there were more curves (15 degree), points, flex track, and a climbing rr! tgauge is perfect for the climbing rr as its small size means you can easily model a scale mountain to have one of these running up. the wheels have started turning to hakone model complete with surrounding trains and the sculpture garden! doing the aerial tramway might be tough in t gauge!

also releasing the garden rr for i think O scale they showed over a year ago.

looks like t gauge will be taking off later this year! points and the flex track will really help it along i think as well. I really agree that Eishindo has really worked hard to improve their stuff as fast as possible. they are really blazing new ground here at the same time. just hope their backers keep enough money behind them to keep up the cycles of improvements and new releases. They have a truly unique product with tscale and i think a really un-tapped market with currently no competition. In these economic times it might work out well for folks to have a smaller and cheaper method of getting their train fix (especially in japan) and they also will have very hungry manufacturers in china vying for the production business.

the level of fasination i have gotten from both model train otakus and regular folks is amazing. You definitely see new sets of gears turning in folks heads when they see it. you can almost see the thought bubble forming of an imaginary layout empire built on a 3x6 table!

cheers,

jeff

if any of you saw the cryptic message from hobby search news about eishindo and rail shop, its that they have set up rail shop as their distribution company for the goods. as things are all transfered there its backed things up a bit on stock getting shipped out. Also looking like the track sets will now be shipped in a much smaller box as they are realizing international sales will be significant and shipping those large boxes gets expensive! even the train sets may be going in smaller boxes. looks like a new rev of the mechanism may be on the way as well.

cheers
