My Latest N Scale Project (Layout)

My latest N scale project is a point-to-point layout that measures 1 foot x 8 feet (30cm x 244cm). The layout is constructed as a pair of modules. Each module measures 1 foot by 4 feet. Operation consists of two trains operating in an alternating pattern. The first one or two car train leaves the terminal on Module A, goes through the tunnel, passes the farm, crosses over the river on the bridge and enters the station in the town at the other end of the line on module B. After a suitable length of time, the train retraces it’s route to the starting point. A second train is then dispatched from the two track terminal to the other end of the line and returns. Periodically, cars are routed into and out of the car barn for service or, depending upon the rolling stock placed on the layout at the time, work cars are brought out onto the mainline to perform some track or wire work. On snowy days, the plow is dispatched to clear the line. This enjoyable project took about 20 hours to complete. Photos show each of the two modules.

Nice looking layout! Details are very nice, especially like the shrine building on top of the mountain! Is that a Tomytec set? Is it the temple shrine that belongs to the former shrine set - http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/tatemono/tate012.html  ? But then again it doesn't look quite like it...

That looks great.  I love having the tunnel run directly underneath the mountaintop temple, its quite a unique bit of scenery.

Nice layout! Simple and perfect for running small 2 car emus. I really like the scenery on the second module.
