Camera Mount For Trains

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that the makers of the cab ride videos use a camera amount to fix the camera on the window.  Does anybody know what they use and how it mounts.  I'm thinking of setting something up for another attach on the Nostalgia train this year, and I would like to use something that's available.

any of the motorsports ones.  clamps, suction cups etc.  lots of railings on trains, so the ones that clamp to rollcages work well.

there's also 480p capable cameras the size of a stick of gum... the only problem is the pcb on it is long so finding a way to mount it on a train might be troublesome. I suppose you could flip it upsidedown and then flip it when you import the video off of it.

Unless you're talking real train.. then for real train you're looking at a suction mount and a go pro camera or a contour HD camera, which shoot in 1080p... there's no antishake though so if it's a bumpy ride it will be jittery on the video..

Go pros are really great, they've stuck them on the outside of planes as well.
