very fun

 

 

im guessing a magnet on a belt moving below the surface to pull it around. clear wheels moving on surface drive the articulated legs. 

 

i guess perhaps with very fine engineering and 3d printing maybe n scale sometime here. its amazing the miniature part assemblies that are being 3D printed all at once! 

 

probably could do it w/o the articulation pretty easily in n scale on a chunk of acetate and just a mech like the faller lawn mower.
