Wow I was browsing through youtube and saw these modifications:

The buses are really well done, with opening doors and mechanisms!

And here's a video on those who are keen to modify the buses yourselves (me me!)

And wow look at this guy! I think he specialised in Kyushu buses, look at that crazy amount of 'Hakata-Go' buses!

Hello all

Been running the Tomytec buses for 4 months now using a figure of 8 plus 2 A1 sections

increased the length of A1 sections by adding extra bus stops and extra straights

Increased my bus collection with a box of 5 more buses all using BM-01

All looks the part ?

But i have a problem I hope some one can help

As from day one I have problems with the the buses sticking on certain parts of the roads and juctions

back wheels turning but no going forward and not necessary on the same part of road or junction

I tried weights on the back of the buses with limited success moved the bus magnets up and down under the bus

again limited success I have 5 BM-01 motors for the buses bought at different times I still have the same problems with all units

I seen many video's on the buses on our site and YouTube to see if any other people have the problems

I have noticed the some people use a tape across the roads i don't what for

The video's i seen the buses  run perfectly up hill over junctions

Any Help or Idea's would be great

Thanks

Welcome to the club Welshdodger san!

Yes I encountered the exact same issue you did sometime back along those cross junctions.. I was starting to think was it something I did wrong? I couldn't figure out what seems to be contributing to this problem too...

Do wish someone with more experience and knowledge could perhaps guide us here?  :)

So I recently received my first 2 HO scale buses, made by Tomytec. I must say the quality is as good as the N scale ones!

The tyres are rubbered, and they move MUCH smoother than the N scale ones. Mine are missing the side mirrors, hence the huge discounts.

The Girls & Panzer bus number 2 looks great!

Now I might just start on an HO scale bus collections... darn...

Off topic: For the serious collectors, I just discovered that there are serial numbers print on the underside of the buses, which corresponds to Tomytec's catalogue for the bus numbers. http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus/buscolle13.html

Example: 147 means it is this bus:

03.jpg

147 東京都交通局

S017 Or numbers with prefix S refers to secret variations...

JB01 or numbers with prefix JB refers to the All Island Bus collections buses:

01.jpg   map01.gif   <JB001>東京都交通局
三菱ふそうエアロスター
型式:LKG-MP37FK
実車ホイールベース4800mm

BM03 refers to buses from the Moving bus basic sets, like this BM03 pictured:

03a.jpg   03b.jpg 【商品名】 バスコレ走行システム基本セットB3(西日本鉄道仕様)
西工96MCワンステップバス 【発売日】 2013年3月 【価格】 7,800円(税抜)

I moved katoftw's post about Painted Trains to the relevant topic: http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/1508-painted-trains/?p=119781

And actually, I don't have more than one Keihan bus. I have a Keihan bus from Bus Collection Vol.15 (a MP35UM), but recently found out that Vol.19 also included a Keihan bus which I can probably get for a reasonable price. I didn't really look much into it until just now, but there's quite a lot of Keihan buses on Yahoo Auctions going for a reasonable price. But I'll probably not venture into that for now because I want to spend my money on stuff for my T-Trak modules. Here's a nice page I found with an overview of 1:150 Keihan buses: http://sky.geocities.jp/geihokuhighlandrailway/busbangaikinki2.html

I'm also wondering, do Kyoto City buses also run along along/near the Keihan Otsu Lines? That means I could get those too someday for some variation on the white-reddish Keihan buses.

That is an EXCELLENT site for tomytec stuff! They have various companies in there and the corresponding series the buses were released in, and were not only limited to Tomytec, others like Greenmax, DFF, Bandai etc were also included. Very cool!

Defintely a yes, as I found the answer from a really old (and crappy) video here:

Drag to 3:47 and you can see the Kyoto coloured bus (trademark 'V' shaped stripe in the front) stopping opposite!

If i'm not wrong, it should be this bus we saw:

西日本車体工業58MC(B-I)

京都市交通局

I'll try to find more recent videos to confirm this ~

I already suspected it was going to be on the old overground section of the Keishin Line. That means that until 1997 Kyoto buses ran along the Keishin Line for sure, but that from 1997 Kyoto buses probably only run above the Keishin Line after the Sanjo - Keihan Yamashina section was replaced by the Tozai Subway Line. It's a bit tricky, as my layout will be focused on the situation after 1997 and mainly on the part of the line outside Kyoto. Either way, there's at least enough Keihan buses left to collect for the moment. ;)

After many months of research I have come up with some improvements on how to run the TomyTec buses N-gauge

(Number 1) I use SR44 silver oxide batteries up to 5 times the lasting time over the best LR44

I have used the Camelion 4SR44 packs then split them. If you can use these in your country

Otherwise then use Energizer 4LR44 there is less chance of this type of batteries being counterfeit

There is not a exact science with the magnet under the bus if the too much pull down to the wire  under the road bed the back wheels will spin going know where

After moving the magnet up and down, this can help but a bit of luck is needed.

(Number 2)  I seen the masking tape used on video's of the buses

This has more effect on the areas that cause the spinning wheels works very well  very unsightly must find a colour to match the road

I use the BM-01 motors buses with the a collection of tops all using BM-01

I noticed that there is a small gap at the back of the BM-01 motors and the bus cover window about 3mm

(Number 3) I found a small weight that can be fixed on by blue tack to the back of the BM-01 motor will add that extra weight for the rear back wheels and the bus cover still fits and you can’t see the extra weight

The weight consists of an end of a jig saw blade I have used the T-type blade

The bit that fits into the jigsaw this bit of blade is very heavy for the size

And a perfect fit at 2mm thick (Cut to the size with metal hacksaw) I get two weights out of the top of a blade

Fit to the back end of the motor not on top with blue tack also a very good insulator in case you touch a metal part

(Number 4) You might need the blue tack for adjusting the height of your motor chassis to make sure it’s not too high up

Or to low in the top of the Bus cover, use a small amount over the magnet end up in the cover at first to adjust level of wheels front to rear

(Number 5) Make yourself a small metal hook for lifting out the chassis motor at the front of the bus don’t us a screwdriver you will damage the bus cover over a period of time

A metal hook like the OO gauge use for attaching the couplings is an ideal tool

This is some of the work I done over the last 6 months which have improved the running of my TomyTec buses

As I said this is not a exact science I still have problems to look at

I will try to upload a video of my not yet finished layout of all Japanese Trains Trams and Buses

Hope this info helps

Yess! Tomytec just announced the newest Kanagawa Chūō Kōtsu bus set! The fifth in the series: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/2015/08/16jam-f7c6.html A new bus as well included: Mitsubishi Fusō QKG-MP38FK (as I predicted a while ago somewhere on the forum).

Kanachū seems to have a big say in the development of Tomytec's Bus Collection development, as this is the first series with a new bus type since quite a while.

Argh!!

They look so nice!

But I have not one single Kanagawa Chou bus... Because they are so hard to get...Usually only at their bus terminals or at JAM as limited bus sets.... Sad....

Actually, only at events. Not even at their terminals... It's really tough to get hold of them, even in Japan.

Thanks for the 'good' news Toni.....   :(

It's hard to continue collecting these buses...

Well, there are always people like Nariichi who could help you out there. Next to that, I have direct contact with one of the Kanachū people involved with the development of the models, so if needed, I can also help out if there is some demand (only available models of course).

P.s. I just heard (from my contact, which can be considered an official source) that this product is planned for release in October.

I tried putting together a list of all the N-gauge current livery (white/green/orange) Toei buses that Tomytec has released so far. I came up with a total of 20, although that's probably incomplete - please feel free to correct anything I've missed or gotten wrong.

Forgot to put it in the original spreadsheet - 1st column is the bus number, 2nd the specific model (I can't make heads or tails of these, but FWIW, they're there), 3rd the Tomytec catalog number, and 4th the set it comes in.

Edit: It seems the forum doesn't like direct copy-pasted spreadsheet cells (well, it was worth a shot), so screenshot attachment here.

YES!

Thank you korat san for that list! I am a huge fan of Toei buses too and that is most helpful!

Here's a link (previously shared by Densha san) that's very useful for all the Toei buses: http://sky.geocities.jp/geihokuhighlandrailway/busbangaikanto2.html

Toei buses basically have 2 types of liveries, one is the newer White/ Green/ Orange livery and the other is the older White/ Green/ Beige one:

Older Livery

toei7e.jpg

New Livery

*Photos credit from the website linked above

The website also contained buses that were made by other makers, like Bandai, Kyosho and GreenMax, although Tomytec made the most of these bus models.

I have a collection of around 22 Toei buses in both liveries and keep them in a bookcase; which I think will be a good number when I decide to do a Tokyo scene layout ~~
