cteno4 Posted March 19, 2009 Share Posted March 19, 2009 Just got a note from HobbySearch that orders for the Hyper construction set Vol2 by Maruka has been canceled. they say its due to: "The manufacturer has decided to cancel the manufacturing of this item because of technical problems in the production process." bummer. i guess the more complicated models were just too tough to do at that price. or maybe poor sales lead to them not being able to afford to do a run. in any case its a bummer... cheers, jeff Link to comment

Bill just noticed that Hobby search has the Maruka Hyper construction set vol 2 back again. but now its a very different set of vehicles it looks like. they are showing only 5 different models right now (still a pack of 12 with different colors i assume). they look like: • street cleaner • asphalt paver • large construction crane • heavy dump truck • snow clearer (this may be the same as from the first go around for airport runways) the price has also gone up from 5400 yen to 6480 yen (discount). perhaps they were having trouble modeling one of the others or got feedback that their collection was too esoteric. set for a july release http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10088460 cheers, jeff Link to comment

Ill let you know. we usually have a little extras vehicle swap meet at our monthly jrm sushi lunches and not sure if anyone in the group is getting sets of these or not, so extras may get snapped up there. actually not as interested in most of what ended up coming out in the set. cheers jeff Link to comment
