Unitrack N Gauge is code 80 right?

 

Was it always?

 

I know the visual difference between code 55 and code 80 flex track but, what are the measurable differences?

I do know of a modeler who switched his Kato Unitrack to code 55....what he did was pull out the Kato rails and insert code 55 rails.....though it must have taken him a long time to do and I can't image it being easy (trying not to break the Kato ties in the process)
