Interesting Pictures. I especially like the pics of the suspended monorail at the Zoo, now if only you could get a manufacturer to produce it in N Scale ;)

I love the picture where the Enoden tram pulls into the station, lots of atmosphere in that one.

Do you happen to have more picture of Tokyo Station and its surroundings? =)

Sadly, I didn't get the chance to do much photography around tokyo. Hoping to go back to Japan at some point so will hopefully will get the opportunity to take more pictures. Unfortunatly, the exchange rate with the Yen is not to good at the moment, so it maybe sometime before I return!

Afew more pictures for you, one of the Shonan monorail at Ofuna, another from the Enoden line, a couple of the romantic train at Arashiama, and a model railway display in the Porta shopping center under Kyoto station.

The "Romantic Train" wasn't running the last time I went to Arashiyama! The close it in winter... I'd left from Kyoto Station and seen it in the museum yards near the turntable but had thought there may be another consist running... after treking through the rain there was no services...

Must get there this time... it's beautiful... did you actually travel on it?

Great pix. I was in Tokyo end of March/early April. I wanted a good shot of Tokyo Station and they were doing all that construction work. Feet hurt too much to try and get a shot on the hill that blocked out construction.

Yes, we travelled on it. It is a little expensive, but worth the trip. Its a very senic run down a river valley, one of the car's has no windows and grates in the floor allowing you to look at the floor below, which is good when they stop the train on a bridge over the river! Was a fun trip, even if the seats are a little hard.

Some more pics from the romantic train, a few from the modern transportation museum in Osaka, and a Shinkansen.

I would have liked to get more pictures of the station but with all the work going on and the screens that have been put up around the station made it next to impossible to photograph.

Some more shinkansen, some shots at Hiroshima station and some hiroshima trams.

It looks like you have a great vacation. I have to ask, there is a photo of different size bear like animals, is there a purpose that the statues serve?

Not sure about their purpose, but the ones in the picture stand proudly on the platform of one of the stations the romantic train stops at. When the train arrives, a tune is played by bells hung on a structure above the Tanuki.

The Studio Ghibli movie "Pom Poko" is all about these fellas.. And even though it's a kids movie and all, the whole large testicles thing is very obvious =)

The final set of photo's from me. These are a train at Miyajima-guchi station, a couple of the model railway at hiroshima station, some trains at hiroshima, a couple of interior shots from the night train to tokyo ( the 'Hayabusa'), and an E231 at Shinjuku.

I like it! Please don't tell me if somebody makes an n-scale model of it....

It's funny--the only mechanical designs that do anything for me at all are bicycles and trains--just things I can go somewhere on.

It's a beauty with a great window to poach and stare out of near the vending machines :)

Near the...what?!?  ;)
