I've seen the article, although my Japanese email buddy and I aren't as inspired by the LEGO brick colours as the article implies.

 

I've not made up my mind about purchasing the model yet, primarily for the colour reason.  However, I don't want to miss the Kato product release.

Hey keitaro,

 

No.  The new Tokyo Metro 1000 series entered service on April 11th this year.  It has a similar colour scheme to the original 1927 1000 series except that grey, white, and orange pin stripes have been added.  I would agree that it does resemble the 01 series.  However, the 01 series will be completely phased out by 2015.  So, when you get over there this year be sure to enjoy them.

Yes, I see that now.  But the second link he provided is for an article about the 1000 series.

 

ATM I'm not interested in Kato 10-927 80th Anniversary 01 series.  I can't stand the colour scheme.  I might not even buy the 1000 when it comes out for the same reason.  Apart from that, the AUD$ is back in the dog house.

indeed it is no surprise there, japan must be getting hammered, the govt should just pull a china and manipulate their dollar down china has got away with it for a long time now.
