New Years Holiday in Japan

We are coming up to the Japanese New Year's holiday and with that a lengthy shutdown at some dealers.

 

Rainbow Ten has posted this notice on their web site:

 

[glow=red,2,300]New Year Vacation: We are scheduling new year vacation from 27th Dec to 5th Jan. Please note SAL/AIR/SURFACE shipping will be stopped from about 20th Dec or earlier until 5th Jan (we are organizing definite schedule now). Please place an order before 10th Dec if you would like the order to be shipped within 2008.)[/glow]

 

Other dealers will shutdown for similar lengths of time and Japan Post will shutdown for a time completely stopping shipments.

Bill - Thanks for the warning! It's nice to know that Dec. 9th is the cut off date for orders. They'll stop shipping 2 weeks before Xmas. :o

From what I've heard SAL gets completely overwhelmed in December, and SAL only ships on a space available basis.

Hobby World Japan has posted their New Year's break vacation which lasts from December 28 through January 5 with business resuming on January 6.

 

:o  ALSO note that December 23 is a National Holiday in Japan.  ;D

 

Rainbow Ten has 3 levels of service reduction:

 

1) Shipment suspension for SAL/AIR/SURFACE: From 20th DEC 2008 to 5th JAN 2009 inclusive

Any orders placed during vacation will be held shipment until 5th JAN 2009.

 

2) Shipment suspension for EMS: From 26th DEC 2008 to 5th JAN 2009 inclusive

Any orders placed during vacation will be held shipment until 5th JAN 2009.

 

3) Operation Slowdown: from 22th to 29th DEC 2008, from 3rd to 5th JAN 2009

We can still answer to your inquiry, but not as quickly as usual.
