Hey great to see the project back on the tracks again! Very cool to see bogies operating close to the real thing on the model!

Need for High Speed

You should build a whole fleet of those trains and set up an assembly line and sell them. Start a business, get some other enthusiasts to help and develop more Japanese high speed train models. and can you produce them in 1:87 scale to.

By the way the Chinese High speed train CRH380A looks very eerily similar to the Japanese JR 500 series.

Wow, that looks amazing!  What is that body made out of?  It looks almost like extruded metal.

It is.  Go back and read the earlier posts.

Wow, very impressive!  In such a scale that will probably be the most bullet proof shell you can make, plus much more realistic than our plastic versions.  I was recently surprised to learn that this method is also used for the full size shinkansens, with the various 700s being made out of extruded aluminum bodies with the windows and doors cut out of the finished body.

He is eventually going to build a 16 car train I think. but it will take a long time to put it together then paint it and don't even mention building the interiors.

Yep this has been a long project. Even the powered trucks is very prototypical! He has someone who was bankrolling the first unit and he got extruded metal in a larger batch for hopefully doing a small number later aster figuring everything out on the first one.

ive dreamed of a 700 G scale for our back yard. Make a lot of it viaduct to keep it cleaner. Like that rc is possible in G with battery so you don’t have to worry about keeping track clean. Figured the 700 would be easier to do with boxy design and not too horrid of compound curves on the nose. Sides could be laser cut for all the windows. Transparent window insert could be 3D printed. Of course money would be no option as well as time! But that’s what dreams are for.
