tInteresting.. not a huge fan of prototypical running numbers, but would you happen to know which motor chassis to get and which light parts to get? I never figured out about the light parts and how the 21m or 20m or 19m motor chassis works...

As it's a new model so it's hard to tell, but if you get one of the sets and look at the numbers on the motor chassis and the two light boards that come with it, then you'll need more from those for the 4 car set to uprade it to two full two car sets.

Thanks! I'll take a look at my 817s since technically they are the same models...

Why didn't GreenMax do the 4-car set instead of the 2 + 2 car set?

I don't think this series has a 4 car variant. Just the 7 two car sets.

Sammy meant why do a 4 car box set when normally they do a separate 2 car motor and 2 car non motor sets.

Because this allows two headlight assemblies and the required 4 light disable switches to be left out and only one box is needed? Less parts mean it's cheaper to make. Especially important when the circuits are sourced from a subcontractor.

I live close to the Nogata-Wakamatsu line and I’ve only mostly seen 819 Dencha 2 car units. I think I’ve only seen them running in pairs once or twice.

Haha actually I thought the video showed a 4-car consist, but I guess it's just another 2+2...

Understood the logic behind it, but over 16k for just a 2-car train set with only one set of lights is overwhelming....

Thanks! I guess it's just a 2-car set for me then... but still I cant bring myself to order such an expensive 2-car set.... Man it's even more than what MA is asking for a 2-car set now!

I am glad I didn't do so much private railways, otherwise the Tobu 70000 and Keio 5000 and Tokyu 8500 will be enough to send me to sleep on the streets....

And some accessories:

I am fine with my tomytec 1000-1800. So nothing is jumping out at me here. I still have the red  keikyu 1000 rilakkuma coming next month. Unless greenmax announces a rerealease of a keikyu steel body.... nothing new for me for rest of the year.

Yeah... more reasons to spend even more money.. it's sad.  😞

Didn't they already released the Kyoto Nara version, or is there something updated in this one?

Saw that today and was like yeah!

Then saw the price again and was like... WHAT?

now is like… bleh...

Would Kato do it eventually, seeing that they are picking up on the Shirayuki, which technically, is a 653 also?

Quite nice, although I would not say $200 nice. Also, for a train called “blue symphony” it was browner than expected
