It was listed on ebay - it must be an older set because its not in their catalogue.

I got this from Rokko Hobby Shop in Kobe, I'm very pleased as I thought I'd missed the chance - it's sold out pretty much everywhere except for a few full retail places (Tenshodo), and secondhand examples.

 

Looking forward next to the mid-production EF66 in JRF blue due in a couple of months time. Already pre-ordered!

I caved in to the temptation and bought a Tramway C12 seeing I can't get an N scale one. It's a beautiful model and I hope they carry the workmanship over to their upcoming N scale C11. I especially like the DCC plug and speaker holes.

 

Now I have to get some rolling stock for it, and the Tramway DD16 looks nice.....

Not Japanese, nor even H0; but UK and 00, my latest addition is something from my younger days...

These units were the mainstay of the few unelectrified secondary lines in the counties of Hampshire, Sussex and Kent from 1957 until about 2004. They carried a number of liveries, with the final survivors carrying the white, yellow and blue Connex livery depicted on this model. They are slightly unusual in the UK as the were DEMUs - the majority of early DMUs using mechanical or hydraulic transmissions - and their distinctive engine noise earned them the nickname of 'Thumpers'. 

 

I might even be tempted to get the sound chip for it sometime in the future...

The latest addition to the fleet, Tomix HO mid-production EF66-0 in JR Freight colours. The real things are sadly all scrapped now but I saw a couple of them on my trip to Japan in 2009. I would have preferred a more current JRF machine but who knows when Tomix will get around to one of those.

I'm the proud owner of 2x Tramway TaKi35000 tank cars, JOT "Bat"/Caltex version. Beautiful cars. Now I have a rather nice private railway freight, Toshiba 40ton electric + 2x tanks + reefer + WaMu80000 boxcar. The only thing missing is a brake van.

Over Christmas and the New Year I worked quite a lot of overtime, plus I had trainees with me for most of that period as well. So I've had a bit of spending money to play with, and some good luck with auctions on JAUCE. As well as a number of freight and passenger cars, I got a third Kato D51, and after many attempts, a MicroAce KiHa40 railcar. I wanted a third D51 so I could recreate the famous Nunohara triple-headers. I'll post some photos tomorrow.

If you want to really make a difference, throw a HoKi2200 covered hopper in the middle. I have a DVD (copied from an LD disc! It just shows how old it is...) about the last days of steam in Hokkaido (in colour) which has a scene showing a local freight consisting of a C class tank loco, a gondola loaded with logs, a HoKi2200 hopper, a boxcar and a brake van - I wonder where on earth that HoKi was coming from and going to tied in the middle of such a train...
