Tomix - New Releases

The new options seems to be classical loop control. This is when Tomix could use the full power routing of their turnouts and do 2 reverse loops with 4 sensors. (just a set/reset, so a tnos is overkill for it)

The sd card option was there from the start, but only for software updates. The best would be full programmability like an arduino.

I'm waiting for the new signals...

So are they saying you can get the additional TNOS layout programs through an SD card, or perhaps an online download?

If there is a firmware update file for the system, you can in theory put it on the SD card and update from there. Pretty much how many DVD players could update in the past.

I hope the Shiki Shima model in the video does not have the final paint. It looks very bland compared to the KATO version. Also, it's nice to see they have the correct colors for the E6. Does that mean they will have revamped the stupid lights on the E5 also?

Does the 4 car limited set come in a 12 car case?

1 car set is 2200. 4 car set is 10200. So 1400 extra for the 4 car set.

The two car taki set does and the extra amount in the price is about the same so I think it does come with a 12 car case. Which is nice because the kokis tend to multiply when I'm not looking.

So would that allow you to use a sensor to slowly bring a train to stop coming into a platform instead of screeching to a halt once it hits it?

This option is already there. You can set individual train profiles in the menu. Both gradual acceleration and deceleration is supported. At least afaik based on what i could google translate from the japanese manual.

I just love how all of you are putting up a convincing argument for me to possibly purchase these sets.

Who knows, it might also have a special sleeve or insert on the case too...

Do these new Seino containers run in block trains or are they mixed with others? The Tomix photo implies the former, might be tempted if it's the latter...

The photos and videos I have seen show them making up the bulk of a train with some KoKi's with a mixed bag of containers on the rear, generally about 70% to 80% of the train consists of Seino containers loaded onto a variety of KoKi's, the vast bulk have two Seino 31' containers loaded on them but I have seen some shots where the lead KoKi has is loaded with one 31' container in the middle.

An interesting feature on Tomix upcoming H0-Scale 683 Series:
The high cab KuHas come with a set of switchable door parts, one closed and one modelling the open state so it looks more realistic when running two sets together.

https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/report/ho/683/fr_683.html

I wonder if we will get to see that feature in N scale one day?

I wonder why this hasn't happened yet. It's not like exchanging of the front section is complicated to do, or has not been done before (like with the imperial train Nagomi, where you can exchange part of the front for the flags)

My Hello Kitty Shinkansen pre-order charge just got made on my credit card, and my vendor has moved up the shipping date a week from what they were showing previously.

Yap the official date was 20/12/2018 for the Hello Kitty, and boy it's cute!

I already have a tracking number and estimated delivery date for Wed the 26th.  Unfortunately, it is intended as a birthday gift for my daughter, and that is a month later.  So, I'll fondle it a bit and take some pics, and then away it goes for a month.

hello does anyone have news on the toreiyu tsubasa from tomix?

A vote will decide if it's made or not. Each of the six sets at the top will feature a code which can be used to vote for your desired model. https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/img/pdf/Releasecontest.pdf

Seeing the 911 series Shinkansen diesel locomotive, which was never released by anyone before, in the lottery, I don't have much hope for the Toreiyu Tsubasa. But hey, sometimes Japan is good for a surprise.

Trying to avoid the urge buy the JP-8 Takis but I don't need my collection of them to start surpassing that of my Kokis. The South Hokkaido Kihas are nice though and the old the older EF-210 is a model I've wanted to re-released though I wish it didn't have the Eco-Power logo on it.
