Tomix - New Releases

Recommended Posts

Something new in Tomix track. This is a 3247 (red), 3248 (green) Trough Girder Bridge. It is a girder that carries tracks over a small stream.  The piece of track itself is slightly elevated to provide a small space under the track. The 3247 and 3248 both include two pieces of 70mm trough girder bridge.

With this piece you can use 5538 under track DC feeder on an otherwise stock rail track plan.  It can bridge gaps over sections of embankment or can be mounted atop piers for an elevated crossing. It also allows you to feed cables under the track.

I really like this track piece, I wish kato would make something similar for the very small bridges that are popular in japan.

Nope I didn't ~~~   😛

I cant bear those couplers and having to forge more money to change them to TN ones.... Besides, I already have the 3-car Kato Kuroshio add-on... so...

And the KATO version which has better couplers is almost 5000 yen cheaper...

Tomix have annouced their E001 Shikishima trains.  10 car set and 5 + 5 car sets.  Ouch on the pricing!

9000 yen more than the KATO version, woa

From Hobbysearch: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10543396

-----------------

- A masterpiece of more than 70 new molds!

[Reality that pursued based on actual vehicle drawing / actual vehicle interview]
- The surroundings of the cab is reproduced by dividing the car body and windowpane into parts.
- Reproduce the pipe of the insulator of the roof part by another part which separated the color.
- The table in the room seems to be an ellipse in the wide angle of the lens in the photograph etc, but based on the interview, it is reproduced in a circle which is closer to the actual car.

[Quality superior to the performance of TOMIX]
- The headlights are equipped with one LED on each side, reproducing the impressive brightness of the actual car.
- The interior light is already installed.
- Designed so that it can be set between the roof and the main body so that the board can not be seen from the window.
- Equipped with a new type motor developed jointly with Canon Precision Co., Ltd.
- Newly designed electrifying coupler simulating the design of close contact coupler.

-----------------

I am very curious about how the quality stacks up to the KATO version. The interior lighting already being installed is a nice touch.

EDIT: Hobbysearch now also included CAD drawings of the TOMIX shiki-shima https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10543396/50/1. However it does not seem radically more detailed than the KATO version. I guess we will only really see when the final model is released.

Ahhhh finally it is released! Already installed interior lights is a good touch! Less fondling with the body of such an exclusive set is always welcomed...

Strange on the releases of those 253s... HG is great, but Tomix already has the tooling for this like their snow monkey sets so...

Shirasagi looks great though, and those Kihas on the Gono line is pretty interesting... Nice E231-0 on the Musashino and the already announced E231-3000 on the Hachiko...

All in all I am safe and that's good news for me especially since Kato has already announced the 7 stars and will most probably move on to the E353 and the 2000 series which I am very much fond off...

What's more interesting is in the Tomytec side:

Now this building is really interesting! Nice blend of colours, and even comes with a mechanical garage!

Yellow of the Shizouka Rainbow series

Nishi-Nippon Railroad Type 3000 `Tabito` painted livery train, much like its bus counter part

Very nice sightseeing bus indeed! Probably the same mould as the Tobu exclusive sightseeing bus with its glass roof

Kanden Trolley Bus is out, along with the tourist bus that one would take from Ogimachi when starting/ ending the Alphine route

Container Trucks

And a Sapporo Tram

If Tomix don't get me interested to part my money, leave it to Tomytec....

The Tabito train looks pretty cool, but too bad that Tomytec will produce it, which means no interior, no functional lights... Shame.

Ouch, my Kato 253 and add-on car set cost less than the basic six car set, granted it was second hand but never ran. Also nice to see Tomix doing Runtec containers, now only if they'd make some Zentsu ones or the older Yamato Transport ones. Like the Gonoh Line KiHa but I can see that one being on sale not too long from now.

Does this mean we finally see all axle pickups with a common train bus on cape gauge sets, not just shinkansens? (it would be great for having flicker free interior lighting)

Thanks for posting this. I really like it. I just reserved it.

No problem ~  Thought I suddenly saw a really multi-coloured interesting building in Tomytec site ad wow it sure is nice!

Interesting video on the Nishitetsu Tabito train livery 西鉄太宰府観光列車「旅人」

Interesting we didn't see the release (or did I miss it) of the 8000 series in the Tabito livery (Tomytec did release the 8000 series but in normal livery)  but instead we have the newer 3000 series in that livery... And it also seems the Tabito 8000 series is being retired ....  hhhmmm...

Searching further, as I was very new to Nishi-Tetsu, there seems to be a dedicated site for the Tabito:

http://inf.nishitetsu.jp/train/tabito/index_en.html

And comes in 4 languages!

There also seems to be another tourist train in another livery, the Suito:

http://inf.nishitetsu.jp/train/suito/index_en.html

Could that mean we can get another 3000 series in the Suito livery soon by Tomytec?   🙂

Now that the last LSE has been withdrawn from regular service, Tomix put up a tweet promoting their Odakyu Romance Car models. Usually this is nothing out of the ordinary. However, the tweet ended with the phrase "Wait? There is one track left empty... Could this be...?"

Go Go GSE! Go Go GSE!

It's only right they do that ~ To compliment all the Romance car models they have been doing so well...  How about picking up that EXE Alpha too, Tomix?  😛
