ATShinkansen Posted April 11, 2019 Share Posted April 11, 2019 So among my most recent purchases is Kato’s Komachi E3 Shinkansen. While I will be running it at times coupled to my E4, I wanted to ask: Is this pairing prototypical? All the photos and videos I can find online only show E4s paired with Tsubasa E3s. The Komachi color scheme is my most favorite of the E3s. There’s something about its simplicity I find attractive. I also can’t help but think “spaceship” when I look at it. 1 Link to comment

JR 500系 Posted April 11, 2019 Share Posted April 11, 2019 I love the Komachi liveey too, but it is not prototypical as it does not couple to the E4, but to the E2 or E5 instead. I believe it might still be running as a Nasuno service coupled with the E5 ... Probably cause the Komachi runs in Tohoku Akita region, while the E4 mainly serves the Joetsu region (Niigata, Gala Yuzawa etc) Link to comment
