I love the huge windows ... just wish they weren't low enough to show off one's feet

I must say, I like the front. The interiour, can't say much about it.

I hope there will be a model of it, would go nice with my 40000s.

Disgusting exterior and interior.

Spare a thought for those of us who will have to live with these things.

Someone imagined a cyclops house fly and made it into a train?

It was all fun and memes when it still was just a 3D render... now it's simply terrifying.

Folks,

From March of next year, Seibu Rly. Co. will introduce a new, eight car luxury train to replace their 25 years  old 'Red Arrows'.

This train will be called 'Laview' (Don't ask!).

Livery, mainly white with a pale green band below window level.

No indication of how many train sets.

The driver's front window is domed.

Which model train co. will be the first to bring out a model of this train?

Regards,

Bill,

Melbourne.

It looks like a bug-eyed Pokémon.  I kinda like it.  Kinda like I like the Nankai Rapit.

Usually the real rolling stock doesn't meet the hype of the artist conceptions. In this case, I'm sure glad it didn't!

"Luxury Arrow View", apparently.

7 sets of 8 cars, cf.:

http://www.seiburailway.jp/news/news-release/2018/20181026Laview.pdf

Which is down from 12 10000 series sets, which leads me to speculate they will not be replacing 10000 series sets 1 for 1, rather they will not be running these monstrosities on the Seibu Shinjuku line (yay!) and will be using 40000 series for the express services to Hon-Kawagoe. Which is not a line you'd really need large windows for anyway as apart from some fleeting views of Mt. Fuji there's not much of interest to see.

I must be the weird one here, as I don't mind it now as opposed to... I dunno, whatever the renders where meant to convey.

I like it. It looks very retro future. Like how the future looked in old movies.

It’s feeling like it’s design is trying a little too hard. Interior doe not have the simple elegance like the rapit’. Exterior just feels blah.

I saw this stabled in the yard at Kotesashi a few weeks ago.

I suspect the view from inside the train looking outwards will be better than vice-versa ;).
