Kyotrain Starts in March

Fascinating story on new rolling stock of a quintessential Japanese themed train between Osaka and Kyoto beginning in March.  Kinda makes me think of a bigger version of the old Shuttle Maihama:

The interior is a huge step up from the last Kyotrain.

Ach, a train is a train. A tea house is a tea house. They can be both elegant and enjoyable in different ways. I find this combination quite kitsch.

With those rebuilt doors it looks like an italian "Piano Ribassato" coach (altough here they're still sliding doors, while on the italian coach they're folding).
