Tomytec Nekoya Line Steam loco announced.

Having produced diesel locos and diesel railcars, Tomytec have announced a steam loco in the Nekoya Line range of HOn30 models. The translated descriptions on the HS website seem to say that the loco is unpowered and can't be powered:

But the captions and photos on this blog seem to say the opposite:

So can anyone here say which information is correct?

Thanks,

Mark.

Photos have motor. And it is an official Tomix display. And for the price. I'd expect a motor included. Although it does have the statement about the 2 axis motor in the release pdf on Tomytec website. Confusing!

For that price, it'd either be the single most perfect unpowered model or run.

If it's not powered and won't have a conversion kit, then the community will find a way to power and drive it. Train people have a weird thing about actually wanting to drive their trains, you know?

If it doesn't come powered, then find a small motour and a worm gear and a small cog. Put the cog on one of the axles, put the worm gear on the motour shaft, and mount it vertically.

I was impressed at the JAM convention that there are a number of other options for motorizing the Tomytec NaRo diesel cars.

Some of these are incredibly small plus don’t have the incredibly shiny wheels that you get on the Tomytec motors. Also some nice brass kits for narrow gauge.
