JR Shikoku TSE 'Sayonara Tour'

Recommended Posts

On 1 & 2 July 2018 a 'Sayonara Tour' for the JR Shikoku TSE has been held. The TSE was the prototype for what eventually became the 2000 series.

During the last couple of years, the TSE has mainly been used for Uwakai limited express services between Matsuyama and Uwajima. Along with the retirement of the TSE, the N2000 series has been introduced on some Uwakai services.

Worth mentioning is that part of the tour was running along the original Mukaibara - Iyo-Ozu section of the Yosan Line, which became disused for express trains after the opening of the rebuilt Uchiko Line in 1986.

Here is hoping that KATO will make a 2000 series TSE special edition (in the form of a Kyoto Shop Exclusive, maybe?)

Hopefully, since Kato, if the catalogue posted earlier is spot on, is planning a Shikoku 2000 series, so they should already have the mould and would be able to produce a limited edition one much easier....

Cant wait for the announcement of the 2000 series though!  🙂

Thanks! It's a really wonderful scenery. It took me a while to find the train on the picture. :-)

The second part of the Sayonara TSE Tour featured a run along the Dosan Line and a trip to Okayama.
