Ah, the footbridge at Nippori. Since I'm limiting my modeling to trains that pass through here (all having come from or to Ueno), I've been trying to find good movies taken from Nippori, like this one. Got any more? Perhaps we should make a new thread "Trains seen at Nippori"?

Great footage of an E2, E3, E4, Yamanotae and other tokyo lines all from one spot

That's just the difficulty: Searching youtube for "nippori" or "nippori station" or even "日暮里駅" turns up too much noise and not enough signal. I haven't found many good videos on youtube of the area. I'd never seen the video you posted before. :D

The best You Tube is in Japanese and hard to find.  The railway name or station name may be even be on the file.  Don't forget Nippori is known as Textile Town.  The big store there is Tomato!

Nippori is just too wide to take the whole thing in one photo.

In You Tube I have a Nippori list. Here's part of what I have.

Bill, as ever, you are the man for finding these things. I particularly love the video with the shot of the Keisei overpass.

Also, your post of photo finds, and mention of Tomato led me on a 30-minute (and successful!) quest to find where I could buy Japanese textiles and patterns for my Japanophile-seamstress wife's birthday next month. So a double win for you! :D :D

I hope you have a Flickr account and can see the largest images by clicking on ALL SIZES.  Note the cutoff through the residential area.  The Super Hitachi and Fresh Hitachi take this approximately hourly. These photos are buried deep in an enormous photo set.

Nice, very nice. The bit of the Joban line at the level crossing with the Keisei overhead is just asking to be modeled…*sigh*

Glad to share the Keisei overpass with you!

Yeah tell me about these sewing seamstresses.  My Mother loves sewing and she wants a Japanese sewing machine now.  The Japanese fabric stores are multi-story stores just like the hobby stores.

More Nippori station and Nippori Town stuff.

FANTASTIC. thanks a lot alpineaustralia! I'm in Tokyo again next february. I guess I cancel the visit to temples and palace gardens and go to that nippori bridge instead!
