Just to make sure more people see this who might not be paying attention to my layout planning thread, I'd like to share this link here. It's an absolutely amazing website which lists every JNR and JR diesel car by running number, indicating which depot it was assigned to and when, and information on what it was rebuilt to/from if such is applicable. (I *think* it also includes private railway DCs, but I usually glide right on past if I see 私鉄, so I'm not sure).
