What did you order or the post deliver? (Worldwide Models)

Wow, very nice!  I have one last remaining piece from my first train set - a Santa Fe Box car and it's about 37 years old.  The E03 or 103 is definitely a beautiful locomotive, the shape is timeless. I am very proud to own one and I have another one on the way and this one is with the double row vents and slightly different livery.

The E03 (with the single line of vents and silver roof) was the prototype, only a few units were built. For serial production they were turned into the 103 (double line of vents, no silver roof).

They were real powerful locos, active for a really long time. If I remember right I saw them in regular service still at the end of the '90ies.

The last E03 was used by the Bundesbahnversuchsanstalt still longer, I saw E03 002 around 2003 (?) in Northern Germany with some cars for track measurements.

In fact the one with the longest service life was 103 113, built in 1970. Along with 103 245 she was in regular service until the beginning of the revised schedule in December 2016. The InterCity 2090/2094 Munich<->Ulm were typical 103 services, so last November I visited Munich, mainly to take some photos of my beloved 103~

You are a lucky one. Here in the Northwest all of them have long disappeared.

Some strange things began appearing on my layout....an Atlas MP-15 in Union Railroad colors and an SD-40 in Wheeling & Lake Erie livery along with some rolling stock. Strange to see a URR (the railroad that services the few remaining mills in Pittsburgh) running on a Japanese layout. Always liked the W&LE livery since it reminds me of the old Rio Grande livery.

I saw the original in Leipzig for the first time in 2003. Since the vehicles were already in the final stage of the withdrawal

Now Canada appears to be shipping grain using B&O equipment. I don't know what's happening here.

Got a hamster per Post today - couldn't resist getting this model after all, I guess they've really grown on me after riding them each day...

The windows are heavily tinted but with the interior lighting it looks pretty good, sadly I can't manage to get a blur free shot of that :(

Was a bit surprised that they also packed two motors in a 3 car train, but I guess it's pretty nice for layouts with steep grades.

I'm also a bit tempted by them, but because I left Germany just before they were introduced, I never seen, let alone ridden one to justify a purchase...

Yep, numbers 40201 through 40206, they also make those in TT and H0.

They're all a tad expensive though you can usally find them a little bit cheaper on some external stores.

Couple of ÖBB Eurofirma coaches to help me pretend this is a mid-90s Vindobona service running through (Far East) Berlin.

While I was away, a Marklin 39579 103 arrived.  Beautiful locomotive and it runs so smoothly and quietly.  And oh the pantographs can be raised and lowered by digital control, pretty fancy. :)

As i see this is the H0 scale three rail (nailroad) variant. Does it come with a sound unit too or that's only an option? (considering most maerklin H0 locomotives have only a single power bogie, there should be enough space inside for a huge speaker)

A have an older version of Marklin's 103, which doesn't have the moving pantograph, but does have sound.. Not very good sound though, sounds nothing like an actual locomotive, and when you're running the train, the general running noise of the train itself drowns out pretty much all the sound, even on higher volumes :)

Which carriages are there behind your loco?

This is from 2003 - no sound but would be a good candidate as it runs quietly compared to some other locos I have that do have sound.

My package from Hattons (UK) has just arrived, including the years long waited N Gauge MK3 2nd Class coaches for my Virgin HST set. Finally I can make a complete train. :-))))

It was a London bus in the package also, because I really like how it looks like.

The London bus looks like the bus design itself was done by a 50s coke ad designer! Advert art just kind of flows onto it. Good eye on the coke ad agency to play well on it, its advertising that "looks right" when so much does not. But coke has been famous for it and part why there is such a collectors market for it.

A faulty controller damaged the motors of my BR class 101 and 411. I sent an email to Bachman, handed over 37 GBP by card and then received two replacement motors within a week. Good service.

Both are now up and running again.
