NAGASAKI--Sixty is retirement age for most people, but not Nagasaki Electric Tramway Co.’s Minato tram. It got a new lease of life after the milestone, and its “lucky cat” should see that good fortune continue.

I trust they remove the aisle tables when it's in regular service.

The article says it is available for private charter.  There also is a beer tram which sells out months in advance.

Yeah, I saw the charter bit, but it also says " The Minato runs as a standard Nagasaki tram." 

 

The interior looks a bit fancy for that, and I thought the small tables would get in the way and/or knocked over.

The tables would be removed during regular service.  Those trams are only 36 feet long and get crowded very quick. This is a company that survives on the lowest fare in Japan.

Those tables are not bolted down, so yes they would remove them in regular service.
