Snowplough models?

Pashina - if you hadn't previously noticed, Mark models exclusively in HO, so a catalog number from him isn't going to help you.

Here's the upcoming World Kogei brass model on HS.

As mentioned, there is an old plastic version (so old that it's rolled off HS) - David (L1H) or Nariichi (MTP) should be able to find one for you, if you don't want to follow the auctions yourself.

Oh, right - I had a vapour lock in the brain I guess, even his sig mentions HO!

Hm, I'll have to think about whether I want to spend that much on a model that will at best get occasional use only, or just parked somewhere "waiting for the winter" as it were.

I have the Kogei model reserved, and would sell you my plastic one after I get the other.

Send me a PM if interested.

Sorry, I was being facetious! :)

My model plough is a kit made by Tramway.

Cheers,

Mark.

Interesting you folks mention this because up until the 1970's, JGR/JNR used snow removal vehicles pushed by another locomotive (you can see them in an black and white film from 1967 shown in Episode 30 of Japan Railway Journal). In fact, they were using full-height rotary plows, similar to the big ex-Southern Pacific rotary plows that operate out of Roseville, CA in the USA today.

Quite a spark in snow plow chat since the new episode of Japan railway journal came out... Im certainly thinking about making a t-trak module based around snow scenery an a snow plow. I think it would probably be a challenge to get enough ideas for it to be an interesting module.

Not as much of a challenge as creating adjacent modules that don't look out of place (or season, as it were) next to it ;-)
