Kato power controllers

From a few years ago, I had a number of small square switches (red, green & blue). I'm in the process of updating three small layouts. I see that Kato now sells large blue snap together power controllers, like the turnout, feed and direction units. I have a question regarding one of them; the Kato #24-851 N Gauge Power Direction Control Switch. Is this a two or three position switch? In other words, is there a central, no power either direction, position? Thanks in advance for replies.

Yes, it looks like it has a center off positon. The wire with the plug is the input, the bottom socket is the uncontrolled passthrough output and the top socket is the controlled output.

It is as the name suggests.  It controls power direction in DC operation.  All it does is reverse polarity.  For revering loops etc.

I'm hoping the small white triangle midway on the throw indicates a power off option. I'll order one to find out.

I tried to install one of those but they are very flimsy. I bought two and I think the spring mechanism inside broke after a few flips.

I just received a "test" one today. It does indeed have a center off detent. It is functionally the same as the old Kato blue switches.

The throw is similar in feel to the turnout controls. It has plugs and sockets so it can be placed in line with the turnout controls, and lets the D.C. switch current go through it. Hopefully it will last for a while.
