Pauljag900 Posted July 5, 2018 Share Posted July 5, 2018 Freight yar complete freight yard complete except for some detail parts yet to arrive. also moved the point control switches to an easier to operate position in front of the freight yard.I used foamcard and tarmac effect sheets to conceal the wires and will blend this into the groundcover on the yard 5 Link to comment

They look so huge and strange to me now. US plugs looked flimsy and 'third-world' to me for the longest time. Now I'm used to them. Those things really are insane. Residents of Kagoshima are used to it. Ash has been spewing from the volcano in the bay since like the 1970s or some such thing, and when we were there, each morning the cars had a fine layer of ash and shopkeepers all swept the sidewalk in front of their stores of the ash. 1 Link to comment

Ultratram Posted July 12, 2018 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Expanded my rail yard. Running EF60-0 and DE10 with my colorful kokis. Put my tomix kiha 11 set on too. The blur zooming by is my temperamental kato 113 series. No trouble going over turnouts today on the clockwise track. Nice to see it behaving. This other post will describe that saga. Over all the new yard on the inside main line is doing good. Can have up to four trains staged. I have added a bypass on the outside track so I can have another 8 car set staged. 5 Link to comment

It seems OK wrenching its ways around 150mm curves, can it do 140mm curves? Does it do Tomix 140mm points? Link to comment

In Japan (100V 50hz in most places, same plugs as US) most sockets DON'T have a ground /earth. If you need one there is a wire hanging off your cord for you to hook to the screw in the plug facing, which should be hooked to ground. A lot of US stuff has a ground/earth on the plug. Some stuff doesn't. Most electronics do and most bigger appliances. Wimpy things (and hair dryers 😞. ) seem not to. At least all the houses are wired for them. Link to comment
