More cataloging and picture taking .. I think I'm done with the steam trains and coaches/cars now ...

Left to right / top to bottom:

- Tramway C11 (220/352) + Kato Oha 31-28, Oro 30-74, Ohani 30-55

- Tramway C11 (180/176)

- Kato C11 (155/227/259/312) + Kato Oha 31-26 museum car

- Kato C11-227 Oigawa Railroad SL 'Kawaneji'

- Kato C50 (21/35/50/54) 50th anniversary + Kato OHA3200 series passenger coaches

- MicroAce C53/54 + Modemo NS110 20m passenger coaches

- MicroAce C57-1 + MicroAce 12-700 series 'SL Yamaguchi'

- MicroAce C57-135 + MicroAce OHA62 Hokkaido spec coaches

- Tomix C57-135

- Kato C57-180 + Kato 12 series 'SL Banetsu Monogatari'

- Kato Roundhouse Chichibu Railway Paleo Express (C58-363)

- MicroAce C59-108 Imperial locomotive

- Tomix C61-20

- MicroAce C62-2, C62-3, C62-15 + 45 series SuHa 'Express Niseko'

- MicroAce C62-17 + series 10 'Express Aki'

- MicroAce C62-50 Galaxy Express 999 TV version (minus gun car, because it's too wide :D )

- MicroAce D51-498 + Kawai express freight cars

- Kato Roundhouse D51-498 Orient Express

- Kato D51-498 Orient Express + Nostalgia Istanbul Orient Express '88 coaches

- MicroAce E10-3

- MicroAce E10-5

- MicroAce 9600 series 9633

- MicroAce 9600 series 49654 + Sera1/Sefu1 coal transport train

Don't mind the dust, some of these have been out of the box sitting on a layout doing a lot of nothing. Also fun, the most obvious out of scale locomotives are all Kato (the C11s and the C57-180)

Did the Sera1/Sefu1 come as a box set? I've seen a MA steamer (forget which type) that came with one of them. Also I knew the older C11s were big but this makes it really obvious, how do the Tramway models run?

The sera1/sefu1 is a full set yes, 15 cars in total. It's a MicroAce set, but I don't have the number of it here at the office. If you can't find the set, let me know and I can check for the number when I get home. MicroAce released the cars together with the 9600-49654, and it's a recommended combination of loco+cars.

The old C11s are definitely quite a bit bigger, but the C57-180 actually surprised me. I didn't think that one was out of scale at all, but having it side by side some other C57s makes it really obvious. Only gave the Tramway models a quick test run, 1 of them ran really smooth, the other had a few minor issues and was somewhat noisy. Might be solved after some running in though.

Slightly clearer image of the undercover area.

Looks good Paul

As to the figures do you buy the cheap bags of 100 and paint or touch them up?

Also I see that they are on small pieces of plastic - how do you fix the figures to the plastic?

Hi buddy, yes I used the cheap figures for the station,

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F160547935728

they re the better of the cheap ones £13  for 200.

i just use acetate sheets from  ebay

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222014083217

or window film from left over kits and then super glue them to strips.I ve found the best method is to pour the glue onto a piece of the plastic then dip the figures feet into it then stick it to the plastic, leave to dry then just cut them to suit.

hope this helps mate

Thanks Paul.

Those figures do look a cut above the cheaper ones from China.

I added a balsa base under my buildings.  Still more work to do on the track before I can run trains.  Supplies needed for the elevation are ordered (as to my horror some went sold out and into reservation at HS).

I've had most of those buildings for 10 years.  They make a good background to my station.

Hey all!

Hoping to post a bigger update soon in my actual layout building thread but I had a question for anyone here first who may have the viaduct station...

I have 4 tracks on my viaduct station for 4 different platforms. However, I obviously have all of these messy wires in the way that I want to get under the table. Is there any better way to do this other than just cutting a hole through the plastic viaduct station platforms? I'm interested in seeing how others have tackled this problem!

I am not sure sure if there is a better way but I taped the wires to the underside of the unitrack to get it to the appropriate spot, then drilled down into the platforms and then into one of the back rooms in the shops for the viaduct station to completely conceal the wires.

Looks really nice there buddy and I can understand why your re reluctant to drill holes but if you don’t then your other option is as Keiichi77 sugested, run and tape to the underside of the tracks and off the end. Holes can be filled and painted if you get it wrong but for concealing the wires your options are a bit limited.

i used these a few years ago and what I did was remove the point connector, drill a hole just big enough to take the wire then re connect the plugs, but to be honest if you have to drill a hole then the size of it does nt matter.I needed to extend the point motor wires so needed to take the plugs off anyway.

not sure if you’ve drilled the plastic before,I have, use the correct and sharp drill bit and take your time,it has a tendency to split if you re a bit heavy handed, like me 😂😂😀😀👍

I just wanted to see a working signal in my module (to get some encouragement) so I installed one.

I also started to work on some sensors for future tests.

For those with the out of production Greenmax 36  warehouse under the elevated kit, here is a Google image search for 高架下の倉庫 that brings up lots of material.

Finished all the final fitting of the basic layout 3.0 modules with the interlocking pins. All fit well! Painted the tops grey. We are doing the sakura Matsuri a week from sat. It will be a temp setup with nothing nailed down, just rubber cement things in place so we don’t need to do a lot of setup. Over the summer we can do all the hard wiring and real scenery.

Thanks, it’s pretty simple woodworking on it. Frame is 2” strips of 7ply 1/2” Baltic birch ply ant topped with 5mm luan ply. Sort of hated to paint the luan, it looked so pretty! After the Sakura Matsuri I’ll face the exposed sides with 2” cherry veneer to make pretty. The care was ding all the peg system to interlock the modules, that took some care.

cheers
