Older Tomix Track

Does anyone know if the old Tomix track (Part numbers are 1001, 1002 & 1003) with the brown ballast will fit the new Tomix fine track?   I just need a few pieces of the Fine Track to complete my plan but hate to order from Japan for just a few.  I can get some of the older track here in the US but not sure if they are compatible.

They are mostly compatible but the connecting pegs are not locking on the older ones, so you might want to glue/nail them down. Also the ballast color is brown not gray.

 

ps: the biggest difference was at the turnouts as the old ones looked more like kato ones and had a different control system

Thanks, the color will not matter as this section will be hidden so anything that fits will be ok.
