I have been to Japan 12 times. The visits add up to 32 weeks. Each time I have travelled by train, sometimes a lot, sometime not so much. I have so far covered 55% of the network. Noritetsu desu yo...

But I have also taken pictures with my small compact digital camera. Some pictures are nice and I'm happy to share them with you, some are best suited for non-sharing...

However, I have selected 755 shareable pictures and compiled a photo album - categorized by JR Company or region for non-JR Railways.

Please enjoy! But please take my advice - enjoy the photo album as you would eat an elephant, one bite at a time.

I went straight to the Kyushu section.  And yes the retired trains are plentiful.

Nice to see the Takachiko Railway photos.  Shame the railway is now closed.
