"Aizu Renewal"?

Recommended Posts

Are you confused with the Aizu Liner?

The link you've posted to does not have the little dog decals visible in any of the images?

That dog is entirely tiny... the actual Aizu Liner also has the dog in it's head-board...

Here's a bigger shot from the Aizu Liner page on HobbySearch

Hello.

LTD.EXP AIZU was run from Ueno to Aizu Wakamatsu since 1968.

But, when the Tohoku Shinkansen extended it to Tokyo station in 1991,

it abolishes a part (Ueno to Koriyama).

"VIVA AIZU" was born then from Koriyama to Aizu Wakamatsu.

Now, it demotes to rapid service train and drives as "AIZU Liner".

However, in 2005, limited express Aizu is run temporarily in summer.

A car of the time is Micro Ace A2550.

Afterwards,This train was remodeled in "NIKKO, KINUGAWA".

This formation is to be used this year.

How much does it cost to ride the Aizuliner from Ueno to Aizuwakamatsu vs. taking the Shinkansen up and transferring over on the Batham Line <sp>> (too lazy to look up spelling this early in the morning w/o cup of coffee.

Yes, It's right.

I will arrange it.

"AIZU Liner" operates every day.(From Koriyama to Aizu Wakamatsu).

"LTD.EXP AIZU" operates in summer only.(From Ueno to Kitakata*)

*extend from Aizu Wakamatsu to Kitakata

Operate days in this year....

July:4.18.19.20.25.26

Aug:1.2.29.30

Sep:19.20.21.22.23

4th July:485 Series Normal Color Formation.

Other days:485 Series AKABE Color Formation.

Which, according to Wikimedia (and for those like me who didn't know), is this red/black livery with the dog graphics.

And so, if I understand correctly, the "Aizu Renewal" livery used on Microace A2550 (which appears to have dropped the black panel on the front) is now only used on the Nikko and Kinugawa limited expresses, and not on any current Aizu services?

485 Series Nikko Kinugawa color train isn't run as LTD.EXP AIZU.

In addition, 485 Series AKABE color train isn't run as LTD.EXP Nikko Kinugawa, too.

Another ATS(Automatic Train Stop) device is necessary for operation.

because,Nikko kinugawa runs Tobu Railway section.

I have to admit, I'm still a bit confused, no less because of this page:

http://www.geocities.jp/ej_train/ej_ltdexp_aizu.html

It says that in 2005, operations of Ltd Exp Aizu began using Nikko Kinugawa-colored 485系 from Shinjuku to Aizu-Wakamatsu. If I understand VVVF correctly, that color scheme was only used for one year, 2005, and from 2006 the service used the red Akabei livery. Is this correct? That the orange Nikko color scheme was just temporary?
