Yes, indeed - it's become apparent. I will be acquiring more table real estate in the near future to accommodate these longer trains. :)

Full length 11 cars E231 is the best (for me - memories).

Yes, much nicer now compared to when it was only a 4 car train.

Nice haul Junior!   Its hard to appreciate the size of a full 16 car shinkansen, even in N scale, till you try to fit it in onto a normal sized circle of unitrack!  We'll have to have a bay area JNS members shinkansen line up one of these days.

Yes, we will - when are you returning to the bay area so we can go back to Crocket N Trak club and run our 16 car Shinkansens. :)

I actually just moved into my new apartment the other day!  Now I just gotta figure out which box the shinkansens are packed in...  :grin

It's all about JR Central Trains running session with their simple and elegant livery: 383, 373, Kiha 85 x2, 313-5000 and 313-8000.

Running my newly acquired Kato JR East Limited Express Trains: 351 Super Azusa and 251 Super View Odoriko.  The 251 is beautiful, I can't wait to get the new 251 with new color.  The 351 is also very nice and the tilt is more noticeable than the 885 Sonic and Series 383 as it it has taller front design.  The livery on these two are subtle and very elegant.

Also newly acquired is a different Kato 253 set - this one a 6+3 car set with the NEX Logo already applied.  It joins my older 253's, one from Kato and the other Tomix and are the 3+3 configuration without the NEX logos.  I also brought out their younger sibling the E259 NEX.

Wow the striking red and white is really nice!  The 253 series are nice... wished Kato or Tomix would eventually do the Nikko color 253 series soon though...

The 351 Super Azusa is one of my favorite Limited Express trains... something about the bubble head and that lighted LED front panel... and the overall cool white and light blue... just works wonders!

A viewing session - back to trains and only trains! :)

251 Series "Super View Odoriko" Old and New Color - I've been wanting this train since I got my first Kato Catalog in the 90's, it was on the cover.

Kato E4 Max - I wasn't too keen on this design and also the livery until I saw it up close and personal and riding it.  One of my favorite Shinkansen ride - being on the second deck and having large windows made for great landscape viewing even at high speeds.

Kato E2-1000, I rode it and saw it so many times that I grew to like it.

Micro Ace 1000 B - adding to the Shinkansen Historic Collection

Kato HB-E300, it's green!

I've decided to invest in some real estate.  Putting the buildings together was pretty fun. Darn it, I have make the trees for the Temple base.  The landscaping stuff will be done on a different day.  My little town is coming together.

I don't know what came over me ordering these buildings especially the Temple Kit - that's the price of a train. :)

Hahaha.... That's like me... I am looking at buying a new iPhone when I'm in Japan over Chinese New Year (iPhones are about 33% cheaper in Japan than in China or Hong Kong), but I decided to buy an SE because a 6s+ is twenty thousand Yen more, and I can't help thinking of how much model train stuff I could buy in Yodobashi Camera for 20,000 JPY!

I just had a thought, how about train phones? Like a Shinkansen end car, voice only nice and slim to slide into the pocket! Now that would look cool and you could be the uber densha otaku geek.

It looks awesome.  I don't recall seeing sentos in rural settings, but otherwise if you can just get rice fields in between the square parcels of land, it'll be near photorealistic :)

Thanks, miyakoji. Ah, thanks for the feedback - I will definitely have more spacing between the houses to simulate rice fields.  As for the placement of the Temple and sentos, I will need to do a little more research.

Junior, in keeping with your table ground cover there may be a corduroy fabric with ridges that might work for rice fields just getting ready to plant!

Hey Jeff,

Hehehe, all my Japanese friends call me 鉄ちゃん already.... :toothy12:

I've kinda got a "train phone".... the homescreen and wallpaper are a picture of an E3-0 Akita Shinkansen in the snow.... and I have a pretty long dangly Series E7 phone charm hanging from it.... Actually a few years ago I saw an ad for Shinkansen cab car power bank, but I haven't been able to find in Japan.... :sad2:
