Oh wow that is amazingly good! I really like the texture of those wall panels and the weathering on them is just... fantastic! I would buy them off the shelves if they were for sale!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi guys! Thank you so much for your feedback! Quick update with some ugly pics. Finished the main landscape finally! Now is time to add detail! First will go catenary poles, electric poles, semaphores, street signaling....

Anyway, some quick pics as of now (sorry for poor quality)

Torii and shrine. It goes all covered by the trees:

Very impressive, your micro layout should be published in a magazine.

Hi guys! As usual, thank so much for your comments. I'm really glad you like it and motivates me to keep working on it.

Now a question: I have the possibilty of getting 2 electric 2-light signals. My question is if you think it wold be ok for my layout. I've seen many different types on the net of the real ones, but not sure if fits. It's Model Power 8568. (pic taken from the net)

Thank you guys!

For a country branchline, this looks good. Also the pole has the older style used mostly in the JNR era. Based on the switch next to it, the height seems to be ok, while the leds seem to be a bit larger. (at least they are clearly visible)

Thank you kvp! Yes, the led are quite large. Here´s another image from the net:

post-832-0-03110500-1476280072_thumb.png

Maybe in-hand they won't look that big. If so, could try remove them and just paint them.

Here's an image of a signal on the Niigata Kotsu taken from this blog: http://express-akanagi.blogspot.com.ar/2016/07/blog-post_8.html

Should I invert the leds? red on top?

As a general rule of thumb, the red is on the bottom and the green on the top, same as UK 2 aspect signals, so I would swap them round.

Hi guys! Here again with some update pictures! About the semaphores, when they arrived were 3 lights, so no use to them on this layout. I'll scratch some. Now for the work, added all the catenary poles, electric poles, traffic signs, people and just decided the final cars, trucks and buses to use. All the vehicles need weathering yet. As I found an actual Niigata Kotsu bus and my vehicles were mixed ages, that's the result, but oh well. Lot of details to add yet before starting with the catenary and all the cables!

I love this layout and all the incredible detail. It's going to be quite an inspiration for me when I get started on my 1950s era micro layout.

Thank you so much! I'm really looking forward to see your layout also! One thing I love on modeling J-trains is how much detail you can put on such small areas.

Hi guys! I've been really buisy working on the catenary cables. Finally made it and I'm really happy with the result. Used 0.3mm copper wire for the catenary, 0.5 for the return lines, 0.3 for the electric lines and EZ-line 0.2 for the tensors (...is the word?) for the catenary. This last were very difficult to capture on pictures, only managed to be visibles over the street. Is even difficult to see them with the naked eye, but in general give the whole thing an amazing look.

On the other hand, and as was discussed on another topic, that much detail is only for dioramas or very small layouts. Working or cleaning complicated track layouts must be almost impossible. So, It´s a one-time for me, except for dioramas.

The pictures are the best I could get with poor light and trying to catch detail, so, sorry for that. I'll try some better with sun light.

Now, start working on all the electric cables for the street poles!

Hope you like it.

Homemade catenary? You're a better man than I. :notworthy:

Actually, the lighting in the last image looks quite realistic, but shooting outdoors will allow a higher aperture and greater depth of field - at least if using a traditional camera, as I know nothing of phone cameras.

Amazing work Martin!  You even did the auxiliary wiring and pull off wires, that's some dedication!

Thank you so much for your comments guys, I'm really glad you like it.

velotrain: Thank you for the tip! I'll try it out!

enodenlover: The catenary, was easier than I thought it would be, you just have to dedicate time to it. When I started working on it, was a lttle affraid it will come out good at all, but then it went out easier with every piece. ;)

Hi guys! I finally finished all the cable work on the main street of the layout and added vehicles. I still need to add cables to the other side track street. In fact, it had poles (as you can see on earlier posts) and was the first to get cables, but when finished and as it had only two poles, looked cool on ground level but out of it was like a volleyball net. So it all came out and plan to add three smaller poles and less cables.

BTW this are the first pics I could take with sun light. Hope you like it!
