Introduction of a spanish guy

(Just to title the topic a bit different than usual :) )

Hello fellow JNS members.

I've been lurking from some time, and I think is a good time to introduce myself.

I'm a railway worker that, unlike the vast majority of railway workers (yes, believe me!) actually LIKES railroad. So, in my 4th travel to Japan, having a nice walk in Omotesando, I made a terrible mistake... I bought the Kato E26 Cassiopeia Basic Set, and there begun my descent to the dangers of N scale models. Back home, I discovered that evil website called Buyee, and that many of those trains I was so lucky of being able to use during my travels in Japan, were available there. So now I have way less money, and less storage space at home (not mentioning how "happy" my gf is).

Currently I'm only a collector, because unfortunately at the moment I lack space to begin a layout, even a small one. But I joined this forum, full of amazing modellers and collectors, to try to learn more about this hobby, hoping in the future I'm able to dream about my own layout.

Well, I have a small circuit on top of a drawer, that I use to test the models I buy. As a joke, I call it Velim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velim_railway_test_circuit)

Hope I can contribute to this forum, and as japanese say, thanks for having me!

Welcome to JNS, Hokutosei. I know what you mean about railroad employees not being big fans of trains. I'm a retired Amtrak employee and I'm a bit surprised that I still love trains as much as I do considering how many headaches the job caused me over the years.

Hi Hokutosei,

welcome to the forum. There are a number of rr workers here on the forum from around the world as well, so lots of company.

Sorry to hear you have been infected. Unfortunately in most cases its terminal for your wallet, my condolences to your girl friend!

Look forward to your posting here in the future. Perhaps a small loop of track can go on a board and stored under the bed or somewhere to get more of a running ad playing bit it!

cheers

jeff

Thanks for the welcome!

My first step, now that I have enough models for it, is buying some kind of showcase to display the trains... then I will try to find out a place for a small, basic layout... time will say!
