  1. Hi, I just got myself a 103 series kit from Greenmax. I also got 4 sets of bogies and a set of pantographs, as specified by the manufacturer. Everything went well when I assembled the kit. However, I ran into a problem while trying to attach the bogie to the car itself. There appears to be no way to connect the bogie and the car, and I wasn't able to find answers to my problem online. Attached below are the pictures of the bogie and the car. Thank you for reading this, and any advice or help would be appreciated. This is my first time using a forum, so I apologize for any mistake that o may have made. Cheers, kokutetsu103
  2. Hey everyone! So, I'm relatively new to the forums, but I have made a few posts. I'm having a blast with my home layout, but I was lucky enough to find a local N-Scale club full of great guys. We do two types of train shows, our N-Trak modules and just this year the club has started breaking into T-Trak modules. Since I'm relatively new to the hobby overall, I knew I didn't have enough skill or space for a huge N-Trak module, so getting into T-Trak was the perfect start. So, I'd like to present to you, my first ever module, a Japanese Shrine! As you can see, I also have my awesome limited edition Kato pocket line train. I think it fits in perfectly with the module! So, it's not perfect, but I'm super proud of how it turned out. This was my first time doing any sort of scenery on my own. I think it's such a fun piece and even if it won't fit in with the other modules at all, I think it will be even better because it will stand out! Let me know what you think! I'll be sure to post future ones here as well.
  3. I decided to have a Kentucky Fried Christmas in Japan this year. While I have been in Japan in the two previous years during the summer, I have never been in Japan in early winter (the last 2 weeks of December). I do not wish to do skiing or any kind of mountaineering sport. My current itinerary is: Tokyo - Nagano (snow monkeys) - <unsure yet> - Okayama - Tokyo (during the 28 december - end of year quiet time). For this trip, we are not going to Hokkaido or Kyushu. Are there specific must sees that I should not miss while I am there? Is there a lot of snow usually in Japan in early December? (I guess, only Tohoku gets lots of snow), and do Joyful trains also run in this time? (I am pretty sure the Oykot train runs, but unsure, about any other Joyful trains, and schedules are not available for this December yet) While I am there, I will also try to go on the 500 EVA and E4 while it is still running. Tips are welcome! Update Is it also possible to book the Sunrise Seto/Izumo in Japan before the start and without having a JR pass? (i.e.: only book a reservation and ticket, without booking the ticket part which is covered with the JR pass?)

    return policies of buyer.jp

    Hi folks, i've posted this question in another thread already. Since there was no answer yet, i'll start this one and hope someone can help. My problem is: I bought a 8-car set of B-Train 700series Railstar with buyee from yahoo auctions. I have bought there before and never had any trouble. Bit more than one week ago i got my package delivered but inside was.. a 4-car add-on set of the 700series Nozomi. I contacted buyee via their contact form on the web page and explained the wrong delivery. So far i just got the confirmation e-mail saying that they received my message. Now i haven't heard anything from them since a week. Anybody of you had a similar issue? You know how long they usually take to answer (in english)? Would be nice to get some info if any of you have experience with that. Thanks in advance :)

  7. In Wednesday (14 December 2016), PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) as Commuter Line train operator did a trial run for their train. Ex-JR 203 (203-2F) series from Joban Line, Japan did a trial run from Depok - Manggarai - Bogor and back to Depok. Something new from this trainset is the train formation is 12 cars that previously operate with 8 cars in Indonesia. The formation is: 202.2 + 202.3 + 203.3 + 202.117 + 203.117 + 202.6 + 203.6 + 203.4 + 203.3 + 202.4 + 203.4 + 203.2 This is the video:

  9. Welcome to Indonesia, JR 205 ex Nambu Line NaHa 39! I represent the people of Indonesia, I want to say thank you to all Japanese people, especially to your childrens in Japan for the picture of JR 205. That's a good picture. :)
  10. I play games in my spare time, and I thought it would be worthwhile to record my experiences with them. The best experience I've recorded so far, though, is with the rail management game Train Valley. This indie game has plenty to offer and is continually being updated with more content, better graphics, and friendlier user interfaces, but the best part might be the funny glitches that persist despite the game developer's efforts to fix all the bugs. A new patch is coming out soon is certainly honed on to this forum's central interest: Japanese rail. I've seen this game substantially improve with time, and it has been a decent investment of my time. You can see my experience with the game from its alpha release to the most recent beta release here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLq7fziG4I2WvsbCzGsxICVvHoK4CpOiuq

    That Japanese Diorama Video is now Live!

    Hi everyone, I originally posted in December 2014, asking for assistance on a live-action video ad for a Japanese client of ours that required several realistic dioramas to be built. See original post here: http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/9496-calling-all-experienced-model-makers-large-japanese-diorama/ I am pleased to announce that the video is now online for all of you to see! Thanks so much for all the help & direction this forum provided me back in December 2014. I just wanted to let you know that we have now built the models and shot them all, edited and uploaded the video online. The 70 secs ad was shot in London using miniature models painstakingly created by our team of model makers. (It took them 5 weeks to build 5 different sets) The actual shoot took 5 days and the entire video was shot on 16mm film. We wanted to use traditional film cameras to give the video a sense of nostalgia that you can only achieve with a real film grain. Here is the link to our Youtube video that we posted over the weekend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJMyNJ5k8e8 Would love to hear any feedback from the forum about the video!
  12. I hope you have time to take a look at my Tumblr blog I kept for my family and friends while in Japan last year. I had a 3 week Japan Rail Pass and had a fantastic time! http://gillysfg.tumblr.com/
