  1. Hi Philip, Not sure if you still have this collection. I was interested in the freight wagons and the orange diesel as well as the 3 blue commuter car set by Kato. The problem is that I am in New Zealand and the postage would be horrible! I have collected quite a bit of older models from a friend which have been from deceased estates. His prices are very low because of the age of the models and also because technology has improved so much. Anyway, just thought i would at least make contact with you. John

What did you order or the post deliver?

Finally got myself a snow Plow. It was a good price at Amiami . I was tossing up between the Microace E10 steamer (on special) and the plow set at 30% off, as I couldn't afford both. Also got a damaged box Greenmax drive for 1890 yen and a pair of Tomix Pantographs. The secondhand Kato EH200 with DCC that I received recently from a friend had a broken Pantograph and the Kato product was sold out. Turns out the Tomix Panto will fit and looks nearly identical. Just had to carefully drill out the mounting holes, so the Tomix version would sit flush to the roof.

    EH 10 Locos

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has some information on what part number the pantographs are on the Kato N gauge EH 10 locos. Looking at my pantos I have for spare parts, the Kato 11-404 or PS16 , A Type look very close , but they are shorter when raised compared to the EH 10 . The locos are going to be used as chassis for NZ120 (TT) scale , so will require the 2 pantos on loco as well as another pair . I guess the other option is to get 2 pairs of the PS16 , A Type, but being TT, the extra height would make it look better. any help appreciated.

What did you do on your layout today?

Bus system turnouts! Interested in what you have designed
  7. A new addition to my HO fleet. An old Tenshodo which has hardly been run. Has marking on rear paint which looks to be old foam from packaging, but the loco runs mint. $50 on local auction site.

Cheers Eurostar. A bit of fine tuning required initially with the dreaded brake lever mech near bogies, but good now. Just applied some weathering to hide the shiny glue spots, etc.

Not very well.Haha! Its a fly swat battery model and requires quite vigorous shaking to get the grass out of the tea strainer.might have to change the strainer to slightly larger mesh version and see if it helps. My friend has a spare static grass generator? he imported and instructions on making the unit up, so will probably go that way eventually.

A little bit more progress on my NZ120 scale layout tonight. Been trying out my homemade static grass machine and made a rotary clothes line. Trees to come!

Real nice colour. I wasn't fussed on the colour in catalogues, but they look great in your photos.

I like your idea of a point to point. Hopefully with working signalling. You've got a nice long run there

some items i purchased from a friend at our local train show. The EH200 is DCC equipped and runs beautifully. paid $100 for the EH and the rest of the haul for $130. Most of the overhead station is in the plastic storage container with a couple of Kato point switches.

received a pcl from the Hobbylink recent sale. couldn't resist the DE10 at 3400 yen and the B train shorty power unit at 2100 yen. The kato 11-106 power unit is really only for a single vehicle because of its drive only running one set of bogies, but at 1400 yen , I can handle that. Been after the Argosy kit for some time as they have one on permanent display where i was born in the south Island of New Zealand. Remember them flying cargo as a young fella as well as the earlier Bristol freighters.Seen the Bristols as a kit, but only in 1/72 scale.
