How did you improve your rolling stock?

It seems so, at least the Tomix models I have have the same white grease(?). All of them are fairly recent models though so I can't say how long it's been like that.

    MicroAce - New Releases

Ive been eyeing their older E751 release on YA for a while, demand and prices were rather low. (though supply was even lower) I guess I'm gonna pick up this one then as the price is okay-ish and it models the current state/formation as far as I can see.
  3. Nice trains! Which Casco case/Urethane sheet did you use, I've been looking for one that can fit Euro trains. According to my calculations even the Shinkansen ones should be too short.

    First pizza-dispensing vending machine

They had one in a youth hostel in Munich I visited a while back. The pizza was actually quite decent (although I'd still prefer one from a proper Italian pizza place if I have the choice 😄 )

What did you do on your layout today?

Are those the "LACK" tables? And are there any problems with height differences between the tables or are those small enough that it doesn't matter? I just looked them up and with that good a price this seems to be just the kind of solution I've been looking for to get my layout off the ground.

The Kato Ge 4/4 III whine

Does it have the 3 pole motor? Several of my recent (new) Kato models with that motor, mostly MU's, are also quite "whiny". I wonder if they changed anything about the motors/production which causes this.

    Tomix - New Releases

New Posters from Tomix are up: https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/img/20180712-1.pdf https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/img/20180712-2.pdf https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/img/20180712-3.pdf https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/img/20180712-4.pdf https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/img/20180712-5.pdf The GSE comes without TN couplers of course... I'm kinda envious of the Snow Rabbit Express 683 series in H0, I'd love to have that one in N, the livery looks so good. We only have the 681 series in that livery form Kato (I think, unless I missed something?). Also there's two other posters up on their homepage: New "Progressive Grade" models which are supposed to be a step above high grade? Or just improvements for all models? https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/img/pdf/tomixnews_PG.pdf And another Poster with a contest, foreshadowing some 2019 releases. I can't drag the text into a translator, so I'm not sure what exactly it is about. https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/img/pdf/Releasecontest.pdf A new 157 series model will be very nice though, Katos is ancient. I think the black silhouette in the top right might be the not-yet-in-service 261 series? The shape fits and it would make sense with them apparently releasing the 251 series too.

What did you order or the post deliver?

A few pictures of this in use can be found, often coupled to other trainsets: https://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/naochans117955/diary/201706220000/ http://rail.hobidas.com/rmn/archives/2015/04/210004.html https://2nd-train.net/topics/article/13312/

    SAL parcel tracking

I have been using "ePacket" or Air Small Packet if possible the last few times, these are available at several Shops too. They are pretty cheap and faster than registered SAL (Had one arrive in just 4-5 days recently). I'm not sure if/how they are related to (Registered-)SAL as I haven't found much clear info about them...
  10. Appearantly this is a relatively old model, from 2001. I found a picture of it in the Tomix 2001 catalogue, however it is too small to be able to read anything: https://ameblo.jp/108782108782/entry-12118117045.html (5th picture on the page). Maybe someone owns that catalogue and could take a better picture? The "blue" didn't actually replace the green part, but the gray one (below the green line) and happens to be the same color as the bluish gray on the early E1 Max livery. As I haven't found any pictures of the 400 series with that livery I would assume they made a mistake and accidently painted the model with the E1's color palette.

    Crazy Auctions / Prices Thread

It's a bigger buyer/reseller - I guess they have enough storage space to be able not to worry about having things just lie around. I wouldn't wonder if they just priced it like the german models they sell without doing specific research or made it more expensive because "it's not european so it must be rare".

    Nozomi super express recommendations

I'm not sure if you have the Tomix or the Kato version - if you have the Tomix one, the 8 car extension contains a second motor car to help out. If you have the Kato model you can purchase an additional Power unit and bogies to swap into one of the other cars to get a second motor car.

    Kato - New Releases

Most of these models have been released or announced already so I guess the others will most likely also come sooner or later. I think the E353 is pretty much going to be a given. I hope that they will also make the JR Shikoku 2600/2700 series if they do the 2000 series. (And more Shikoku models of course 🙂 )
