    Cracked 300series Chassis

Then, I am not sure I understand the relation you are trying to draw between the zinc issue and Kader buying Sanda Kan. I would have understood if this was issue that started after Micro Ace had to find a new factory, but these appeared before they received the termination letter.

What did you do on your layout today?

    Probably the lost A4
  5. Day 6 looks incredibly busy. The best way to get to Dazaifu is to take the Nishitetsu Omuta line. You need to get into Tenjin which is a short ride on the subway from Hakata and get the train from Nishitetsu Fukuoka station. Then return to Hakata via Nishitetsu line and subway, catch the shinkansen to Hiroshima. This won’t leave you a lot of time to get the ferry out to Miyajima.

You may find you will get a better match if you use 24-039 Kato Unitrack Ballast. Hobby Search doesn't list it, but you can get it from other sources. https://www.modeltrainstuff.com/kato-ho-n-24039-unitrack-ballast/ Imitating KATO Ballast http://thomas.tuerke.net/on/mrr/?thread=1289869264

I don't believe that this is the case, in china they must be Chinese owned but not necessarily owned by the government. Much of the rise in Chinese manufacturing power was due to this shift from state owned to privately owned businesses, although the state does maintain control and in some cases ownership of larger strategic sectors. For example the larger steel mills are often state owned, while the smaller ones can be privately controlled. As of 2004 state ownership in whole or part (gov owns some stock) accounted for 42% of industry in china. In most cases what the government does control is the land, which is leased to the business for a set amount of time to be renewed or revoked after that date. The choice to favor high-tech manufacturing is more an economic choice by supply and demand, the profit on electronics is much higher for a similar amount of work than making quality model trains. Some of the rapido models probably have more parts than an iphone at this point.

You needs some nets around it to catch the balls, otherwise you'll be losing a lot of them 😉

Hi, To counter any colour differences I always paint the entire trackbed including tracks after ballasting, as can be seen here. I admit I have seen people use an airbrush achieving fantastic results. This is just put on with a paint brush using acrylic paints. On the foremost track you can see I started adding additional rust colour with weathering powder as this would be a lesser used siding. Hope this helps.

Grrr. I was wrong. The ballast is still dark. The glue must have formed a permanent coating over the rock. I don’t know what to do next. I can try using glue that’s more diluted. But that might make the problem worse. I can try adding ballast on top of wet glue. I can try putting more ballast on top without glue, but that’s potentially going to shift, revealing the darker stuff underneath and maybe getting into the points.

It lasted for years. Even though Atlas was listed as unaffected there new releases did progress for a long time and a time there track was almost non-existent. It was not a short term issue.

Wikipedia mark the take over from November 2008. From what I read, the terminations were potientallz given around late June. Most affected sets are from May. So from before the termination.

That would be shortly after Kader bought control of Sanda Kan, the largest Chinese model train manufacturer and delivered termination letters to nearly 50 model train lines causing chaos in the model train industry. Kader is the parent of Bachmann. Jason Shron has pointed out in his videos that all factories are government owned in China and they favour high-tech manufacturing over other products like model trains.

I drew it on a piece of A4 paper first,I had 4 goes to get the proportion of the boxes etc tolook right then I used a ruler and one of these, It’s basically a paint pen,the grass is just a hairy grass mat from Gaugemaster which I glued to 1.5mm card, then stuck it to the baseboard.

Nice! How did you get the lines on the pitch?
  22. I'll probably get an oval of the Tillig TT rack with the roadbed, it's basically the TT version of Unitrack, so should be pretty stable for testing purposes. For the actual layout I was planning on hand laying the visible track at least, this will give me the most flexibility. I have this scene in mind where there's a really narrow bridge and the regular gauge and narrow gauge lines will need to share the track on the bridge, so it needs to be dual gauge. Haven't done that much research yet though, I'll finish this locomotive first, and see where to go from there. Anyway, some pictures: Base frame and wheels: Frame with motor mount and wheels installed: Testing some parts of the shell:
  23. Another possible MicroAce 2010 victim: A-0585 183-1000 ("Azusa New Colour"), nothing visible externally and it still runs fine, but when taking the body off, the chassis appears to be bending upwards slightly.

Wife at work for 12 hrs so off to the shed I went,I d already cut a prepared a lot of stuff ready,so at 6am with the sun shining off I went to tackle the back board that used to be the freight yard. i considered a few things but came up with the following, Football teams and goalposts to follow. I ve also used the car parks to display my cars and buses. Do nt tell the wife as she thinks I’m putting the kitchen and conservatory back together after having it decorated yesterday!😂😂😂😂

A month or two ago, but I had not taken the set out in a couple of years. I have another train from the list but it is so far unaffected (E501).

Interesting. I had A6072 up until 3 years ago when I sold it to another JNS member, and didn't have an issue. When did you first notice problems with A6071?

    Ugliest Trains?

Folks, TRA 700 series EMU sets, the shot at the platform with the doors open shows a step inside from platform level to car floor level, not good for wheel chairs, prams etc. Also, the lip or cowl at the front covers the coupler, so that's allowable. Regards, Bill, Melbourne.
